The renowned historic Italian brand, Max Mara, contacted Studiopepe to oversee the interior design project for the Max Mara building in Ginza, Tokyo, designed by the Grassi architecture studio. Studiopepe came up with a theme composed of a beige and grey colour palette and the use of soft touch fabrics like velvet and silk carpets, enlivened by touches of deep, rich colours such as carbon copy blue and emerald green. Sophisticated materials, precious stones used as objects, opaline Venini glass, and iconic design pieces to pulled it all together to create a lifestyle experience that went beyond the store decor itself. Studiopepe designed several made to measure furnishings, such as the display tables and counters, based upon the same concept that was used for the interiors, more specifically, an idea of contemporary tailoring and deconstructed refinement that characterizes the brand.
